Resilience of Filipino on Disaster

Kaugnay na larawan

The Philippines, is a leading regional actor in disaster risk management. However, a full picture of who is doing what, how, where and when on resilience and disaster preparedness does not exist. Consequently there is no single study that compares the impacts and results that different preparedness measures are having in the Philippines. We recommend further research focused on mapping the network of actors, understanding community perceptions of disaster risk preparedness and resilience, and investigation into the socio-ecological systems of different communities.

The government of the Philippines and numerous relief organizations work together to move beyond the immediate response to the disaster-stricken areas and embark on the longer-term recovery process, the challenge will be how well they can realize the vision of' "building back better" in order to have communities in a stronger position to withstand the unforgiving nature of these disasters. This approach to humanitarian assistance has grown as best practices have been captured during other disaster relief operations, from carrying out reconstruction that properly accounts for future hazards and addressing the urgent need to restore livelihoods. Being situated in the "Pacific Ring of Fire" and expecting future natural calamities, the approach of managing disaster risk reduction has been embraced from national authorities down to many local government units.

This paper assessed the extant research and practice of resilience and disaster preparedness in the Philippines, which serves as a good model on how to strengthen resilience and promote disaster risk reduction at the local level. Research and inventions are already identifying examples of best practice in disaster preparedness, response and recovery; however, important underlying drivers of disaster risk, such as a degrading environment and inequality, still remain over looked. With the frequency and intensity of disaster set to increase, communities are going to have to prepare more for worse events. This poses the question of how much longer we can react to disasters rather than mitigating them in the first place. The urgency with which we must address the research gaps across the disaster cycle, and in particular in preventing and mitigating disaster risk alongside preparedness, is mounting. Research findings must then be translated in policy decisions with committed implementation. A greater prioritization of mitigation, prevention and preparedness is not only economically advantageous, but from a humanitarian point of view, reduces the human costs, and aligns with initiatives on sustainable development.

State of the Nation Address (SONA) 2018

Resulta ng larawan para sa states of the nation address philippines 2018 hd
The State of the Nation Address (SONA) shows the status of the country within the previous one. It is currently the state of the Philippines. The administration shows the present state of the country, recent problems and how the new President will deal with it. Country Status Talk is an annual event in the Republic of the Philippines, where the President reports the state of affairs, usually in the opening of a joint session of Congress.

"Let me begin by putting it bluntly. The war from illegal drugs is far from over and will not be sidelined, instead, it will be as relentless and chilling."Rodrigo Duterte opened his speech vowing to continue pursuing his controversial campaign against illegal drugs saying that he is "for human lives" criticizing human rights activists opposing the campaign. President Rodrigo Duterte spent speaking about his unrelenting war on drugs, he did not mention anything concerning rehabilitation. Instead, he focused the spotlight on the "billions-worth" of illegal drugs the police and anti-drug agents have seized. He also mentioned the Philippines partnership with Malaysia and Indonesia against piracy in their shared maritime borders as well as the country's cooperation with China against illegal drugs. Duterte added that the cooperation of the country with China doesn't mean the Philippines will stop pursuing its national interest in relation to the South China Sea disputeHuman rights to me means giving Filipinos, especially those at the society’s fringes, a decent and dignified future through the social and physical infrastructures necessary to better their lives. The lives and freedoms and the hard-earned property of every Filipino whose condition we wish to improve shall be protected from criminals, terrorists, corrupt officials, and traffickers contrabands.

Thousands of protesters and militant groups rallied near the Batasan to condemn rampant killings being linked to Duterte's war against illegal drugs; as well as the tax reform law, raising duties on fuel, cars, and sugar-sweetened drinks. Analysts added that Dutertenomics performance after his two years in power is fair to poor citing the impact of the TRAIN law.  The inflation rate (rate at which the general level of prices for goods and services is rising and, consequently, the purchasing power of currency is falling) also increased versus last year (4.9 vs. 3.2). Some also reacted with the proposed federalism, that would decentralize the system of the government. Others said creation of new states or regional governments will just create another bureaucratic layer with the installation of state governors on top of provincial governors, municipal, and city mayors. Meanwhile, the President was not able to sign the Bangsamoro Organic Law (BOL) in time for the SONA as it was not ratified before the adjournment of today's session of the House of Representatives.

On the other hand, latest Pulse Asia survey revealed that majority of Filipinos consider the war on the drugs as the Duterte administration's most important achievement. The report also include good feedback for the fight against crime, salary increase for police and soldiers, fight against graft and corruption and free tuition in public universities and colleges.

That's the question we need to answer.

It is important to take care of our Health in order for us to maximize our skills and talents. If we are strict on consuming a “balanced diet” food everyday, it can really help us protect our self from any viruses. Our immune system will become healthier than the usual. Remember that exercising also has a big impact in our body. It can help lower cholesterol, and it’s good for the heart.

Nutrition month is not restricting us to eat, it’s just reminding us to moderately consume unhealthy food (or better keep away from it), and helping us enjoy life with a healthy body. This campaign should be for all, not just for students, and this should be implemented every July, it should be everyday. Have a healthy lifestyle and live a better life.
